Halloween

The weekend before Halloween, we picked pumpkins with cousin Joey at a local "pumpkin patch" (ya know, the one of the side of the road next to Costco...) We had plans to go to the actual farm, but decided the kids don't care where their pumpkins come from.

Leah wanted to be Tangled for Halloween, but Target was out of those costumes. Next best option was a cowgirl (aka Jesse from Toy Story). Halloween night, she decided she did not want to be a cowgirl, but rather a princess. We put some things together from her closet and ta-da! a princess.

Welcome Matthew

In the midst of sleep deprivation, diaper changing and nursing on demand every 2-3 hours over the past 3 weeks, it has dawned on me that I have not written a post about the new addition to our family.

2:23 a.m.

He is so precious, curious, and calm (the majority of the time). He likes to watch his big sister and observe his surroundings. He waves his arms with force to send a message (which is usually "hey mama, it's feeding time!!") Big sister Leah loves him to pieces and is always repeating everything I say to him like a little mama. She follows me around with her potty (aka step stool... still working on the potty part) so she can see and talk to Matthew while I change him or give him a bath. She gives him lots (and I mean LOTS) of hugs and kisses.

Here are some pictures over the past 3 weeks. I will try to be better about updating :)

Enjoying some time on the patio...

Had to figure a way to give Leah a bath mid-day... bouncy seat!

Free Johnsons Baby!

Today we hit Walmart to do some ad matching and use some of our coupons before the baby arrived. Every week I think it will be my last week shopping before he decides it's time, but he seems to be holding out. Two more weeks!!

Albertson's has all Johnsons Baby products on sale for $1, and we had $1 off coupons (from Johnsons website) so everything was free! We got 2 lotions, 4 body washes, and 3 of the night time shampoo.

We also stocked up on wipes. Reg price $1.97 (they are packs of 72). I had a $0.50 coupon that was supposed to double to $1, but I was in no mood to argue with the cashier, so we got 7 of them for $1.47 each. Still a pretty good deal.

Other items:
Advil: Free with coupon
(2) Aquafresh Toddler Toothpaste: Reg $2.68 - MC $1.50/1 = $1.18 each
(2) Ziplock bags (mega packs): Reg $2.98 - MC $1/2 = $2.48 each (not really a stock up price, but we needed some!)
Graco humidifier filter: Reg $7.00, Clearance $3.50 (actually a really good find. We needed one for Leah's humidifier!)

Tomorrow is the regular grocery shopping. Haven't done my match ups yet, but I know we will be stocking up again on V8 Fusion juice (for Leah) and pasta sauce!

Cute Clothing Deals

My hubby set up a prenatal massage and pedicure for my birthday (thank you!!), and then we went out to dinner. After dinner, we walked the mall to do some shopping and found some great deals on clothes for the little ones. As usual, we didn't even hit any of the stores for us. First stop? Disney Store to pre-order the new Lion King. Next:

Children's Place

I love little polos, and have been on the hunt for good deals to stock up for baby boy. We walked into Children's Place before leaving the mall on a whim, and saw an entire shelf marked $3.99. I thought for sure it was incorrect, and Brad asked the sales associate. Yep, $3.99 for each shirt! (Which, by the way, are normally $12.50 PER SHIRT). We bought one of every pattern and color in size 6-9 months.

Walking out, Brad noticed another shelf marked $3.99 with tons of shorts. Again, a bit hard to believe, we asked the sales associate. Yep, $3.99 for each pair of shorts! (Normal price $10.50 - $14). We bought one of every color in size 6-9 months. Not only are they super adorable, we got a super deal on them. As an added bonus, we received a voucher for $20 off our next purchase of $40 or more.

Total spent: $44.08

Old Navy

All of the kid's clearance was an additional 50% off the clearance price.

Possibly the cutest shirt EVER (0-3 months) $3.23 and summer hat $2.99.

Next summer for Leah: adorable summer shirts $2.24 - $3.24, and a swim suit for $3.99.

Total spent: $23.24

Mommy and Leah Morning

Since it may be a while before Leah and I get to spend Mommy and Me time together, I decided this morning was a good morning. First, we hit the car wash:
Next stop, Starbucks:
Leah had a strawberry milk and petite scones (aka triangle donuts since they don't carry the petite donuts anymore). Mommy had an iced decaf vanilla latte.

Next stop, Target. It was a bit hectic trying to figure out my transactions with coupons with a very hyper toddler, so no pictures were taken of our trip except for what we purchased:

(2) Huggies newborn diapers (weren't on sale but we need them for the baby): $9.49 - MC $1.50/1 = $7.99
(2) Huggies wipes: $2.39 - MC $1/1 = $1.39
PLUS I had a Target coupon for $3 off with the purchase of diapers and wipes (used 2 of them)
(8) Cascade: $0.97 - MC $1/1 = $0.03 credit
Orbit gum: Sale $2 - Target C $1/1 = $1.00
Thank you cards: $2.99 (no sale or coupon, but I needed them for the baby shower gifts)
Not pictured: (2) 12-pk Diet Pepsi: Sale $2.50 - Target C $1/1 = $1.50 (gave to my dad)

Total Spent: $22.60
Total Saved: $26.78

Next stop, the mall for clothes shopping and lunch:

Overall, a very good morning. Now it's nap time for Mommy and Leah.

Diapers for $0.07!

I made a stop at Target to get some freebies this morning. Although the majority of the items I wanted were out of stock, I did find some diapers on clearance.

Diapers: $6.94 - MC $1.50/1 = $5.44 ($0.07/per diaper!)
Wipes: $2.39 - MC $2/1 = $0.39
Aquafresh Toothpaste $2.69 - MC $1.50/1 = $1.19
Eye Shadow: $2.49 - MC $1/1 - Target C $1/1 = $0.49
Cascade: $0.97 - MC $1/1 = $0.03 credit

I stopped by another Target and some Fry's Food locations on my way home, but they didn't have any of the diapers on clearance.

Apple Annie's Orchard and Farm

A couple times a year, we visit Apple Annie's Orchard and Farm out in Wilcox, AZ. This time, some friends joined us and their daughter Hannah (6 weeks apart from Leah), and little Noah. Apple Annie's is about an hour and a half drive, but completely worth it. You pick all of your own fruits and vegetables (whatever is in season). This year was definitely more exciting because Leah was able to walk around and help pick, and she understands what she is picking and why.

These are what we picked:

Tomatoes

Watermelon, Cantaloupe, Zucchini and Green Beans

Pears

Peaches

And lots and lots of apples
